Behind the discoveries
Sources & corrections
Atlas is a geography game made by Antares. Its questions and field notes connect places with landscapes, wildlife, history, and culture.
Follow the source
Facts link to references such as national parks, museums, tourism authorities, and UNESCO. Field notes show a source and access date alongside each story. The wording is written for learning; the original reference provides more detail.
Geographic names and boundaries follow the map data used in the game. Maps simplify a complex world and are not authoritative statements about disputed borders. Map geometry comes from SVG Maps.
Photographs and illustrations
Photographs carry source and license credits. A small number of quiz images are AI-generated illustrations, identified in their captions or credits. They illustrate a topic rather than document an actual event. Postcards and decorative game artwork are illustrations.
The Daily Atlas fire animation is Google’s Noto Emoji, used unchanged under CC BY 4.0. Its static Noto Emoji fallback is used under Apache License 2.0.
Help correct Atlas
If an answer, explanation, image, or source looks wrong, report the place and the question text, and include a reliable reference if you have one. Email support@antaresplatform.com. Do not include personal information or your saved browser data.
Sources can change, and a listed access date records when a reference was consulted rather than a guarantee that every detail is current. Corrections should address the factual claim and its explanation together.
